#MakeMercyReal: Celebrate the Year of Mercy with the Sisters of Mercy
Pope Francis has declared 2016 an Extraordinary Jubilee, a Holy Year of Mercy, which runs from December 8, 2015, to November 20, 2016.
How gifted we are to be named Mercy during this extraordinary jubilee year! We are reminded of Pope Francis’ words in announcing this Year of Mercy: “What moved Jesus … was nothing other than mercy, with which he read the hearts of those he encountered and responded to their deepest need.”
Responding to the deepest needs has been our call for 188 years. This year while we seek to deepen our own commitment to our charism of Mercy, we invite you to join us.
#MakeMercyReal
The Pope's invitation to give and receive God's mercy during this holy year is an opportunity to share how we "Make Mercy Real." Share your stories, photos and experiences of giving or receiving mercy on social media using the hashtag #MakeMercyReal. Learn how you can #MakeMercyReal in three steps or see how others #MakeMercyReal.
Not on social media? Email us at YearOfMercy@SistersOfMercy.org to share how you #MakeMercyReal.

Believe: My Favorite Word
My mother named me quite accurately. I am a Martha in the truest biblical sense. Like Martha in Luke’s Gospel, I am a doer and take great pride in all that I can juggle and accomplish, particularly in the service of others.
